Lafayette General Medical Center
Lafayette General Medical Center is a self-funded, Louisiana-based healthcare company with 2,500 (employees and dependents) lives. In 2003, prescriptions were still covered under the traditional major medical plan with a deductible and coinsurance and the hospital had never offered a pharmacy card program. Competition in the work force was the catalyst for driving the benefits team to consider a pharmacy card program. Reily & Standard
Self-funded through a national Carrier, the Reily & Standard groups (Reily) drug spend is approximately $1 million annually. BancorpSouth Insurance's pharmacy benefits consultant, Ginger Campbell completed the initial evaluation and assessment of Reily's pharmacy benefit program in 2004. Working with the Carrier to collect 12 months of pharmacy claims data, Ginger then secured monthly electronic pharmacy data transfers.
